Terms of use
These Terms (version 1) are between you and System Think Van LLC, which publishes HGRS. You accept them when you create an account. If they change, the app asks you to accept the new version.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over to use HGRS. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
What HGRS is, and is not
HGRS is a free scorekeeper for group step challenges: it counts the days each participant reaches the daily goal as entries, and at the end it picks names at random from all entries. HGRS gives nothing and holds nothing of value. It is not a sweepstakes, a lottery or a raffle, and it awards no prize, reward or cash. Nothing can be bought or sold in HGRS, and it never handles money.
System Think Van LLC does not sponsor, run or fund any challenge or drawing and gives nothing through HGRS. Anything an organizer arranges outside HGRS is between the organizer and the members.
No fees, no payments
No one may charge a fee, or require a payment or a purchase, to join a group or a challenge, to take part, or to earn entries — not the organizer, not a member, not anyone else. A fee together with a random drawing can be an illegal lottery. Before an organizer publishes their first challenge, they confirm this in the app (the organizer pledge). Any member can report a request for money from the challenge's menu or the person's, with the reason "asks for money".
If you organize a challenge
- You run the challenge, and your notes are your own words. If you offer anything of value with it, you alone are its sponsor, and you answer for every law that applies — including the registration and bonding rules some states set for promotions above $5,000, such as New York's and Florida's, and tax reporting.
- A challenge may not promote a business's products or services.
- Apple is not a sponsor of any challenge and is not involved in it in any way.
- When you hand a group over or delete your account, the group and its challenges pass to the member who takes over.
What is not allowed
Harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, spam, impersonation, asking members for money, and names, titles, notes, void notes or cancel reasons that do any of these. HGRS refuses some words outright. Anyone can report a person, a join request, a group or a challenge in the app, and block a person. We read every report. We may replace text that breaks these Terms with "Removed for breaking the rules", and we may sign out and disable, or delete, an account that keeps breaking them.
Step counts
Steps come from Apple Health, as your devices recorded them. We do not promise they are accurate. An organizer may void an entry with a reason, which the person sees, and restore it.
What you write
You keep what you write. You let us store it and show it to the members of your groups so the service can work.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time (how). We may suspend or end an account that breaks these Terms.
No warranty
HGRS is provided as it is, without any warranty. To the extent the law allows, System Think Van LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of HGRS.
